All services in AMBERresponse revolve around ALERTs.
When you first define an alert you will receive a txt message on your mobile phone advising you of the alert and telling you how to start it.
You also pay for the alert at this stage, it costs a single token, but you must also have enough tokens available in your account
to cover the required deposit to run the alert. Deposits are not taken until the alert is started.
The ALERT will not be started until you send a txt message saying START followed by the name of the ALERT you wish to start.
To start the Alert reply to the TXT message from AMBERresponse. Your message must start with the word START
followed by the ALERT name
and then followed by any relevant information which may be helpful to your emergency contact(s).
For example in the mini-cab ALERT you could send the following txt:
START cab am on my own in a mini cab from station to home, cab registration is X123ABC
You will receive a confirmation TXT from AMBERresponse when the Alert starts. When you receive this, you know AMBERresponse is monitoring you
and is ready to receive your next instruction.
This confirmation message will detail the time you need to stop the Alert by, if you do not stop it,
your emergency contacts will be sent messages and any details you have supplied relating to this alert will be available to them to view.
AMBER response protects your privacy by ensuring that your private details are kept private unless you allow the alarm to go off by failing to stop and alert.
