All services in AMBERresponse revolve around ALERTs.
You can have as many alerts as required and can use each one as often as required as long as you have sufficient credit in your account.
Before you can define an Alert, you must have entered at least one emergency contact.
This is someone you would like to be contacted in the event of you needing assistance.
It would be worthwhile advising this person of the fact you are naming them so that they know
how to respond in the event that you need assistance.
To define a new emergency contact use the Emergency Contacts menu,
each contact should be given a name as well as their mobile phone number.
Emergency contacts are contacted via text message and must have a mobile phone connected to a UK network
with a code starting 07.
Click on Add Alert to define a new Alert template.
Each alert must be given a name, to understand how they work the following examples may be of use:
If you regularly make a journey home by mini-cab and that journey lasts on average 20 minutes,
define an alert called CAB (or whatever name you will remember) with a duration of 30 mins
(allowing 10mins for delays). For the text put something like 'Normal journey home by mini-cab'
An alternative is to use the name like the duration so define an alert called '30' of 30 minutes in length.
For the text you must supply at least 20 characters so put something like 'Standard alert of 30 minutes'
In either case, when the alert is started (by txt message)
you can add precise details in your txt about what you are doing.
Remember the more information you supply, the better placed any emergency contact will be to assist you if needed.
