An “ALERT” is like a plan of action, it defines what you plan to do, how long it should take and who to contact if things go wrong. Each Alert is given a name so that you can have more than one (and even operate more than one at once). The information required for an Alert is: • A unique name, (pick something which is easy to TXT as well as remember) • A duration, (the number of minutes up to 24 hours for the Alert to last) this is the time from start to finish of what you plan to do. • Emergency Contacts – AMBERresponse allows you to hold up to three contacts for each alert, you must have at least one. • Some text to describe what your activity is. This text will become available to your emergency contacts in the event that you need their assistance. You must put in at least 20 characters but can add further details when you start your Alert by adding information into your TXT message. AMBERresponse utilises both web based and mobile based communications to make it truly accessible. You define standard ALERTs on the web, but activate and personalise them using TXT messages from your mobile phone. When an ALERT is defined, a TXT message is sent to your phone, once you have received this message, you can use the ALERT as often as you wish without needing to go back to the web. AMBERresponse recognises a number of keywords which should always be the first word in any TXT message. These words should then be followed by the name of the ALERT to which they refer (with the exception of CREDIT). The keywords understood by AMBERresponse are: START name (optional additional text to be added to the description of your activity) STOP name DELAY name MINUTES INFO (name) additional text to be added to the description of your activity PANIC CREDIT
